halloweenie.

a few little decorations...

all i have to say is this. FINALLY i am not the only one in the house who cares about this part! max woke up the morning after i put up the halloween decor and gasped "OUR HALLOWEEN IS UP!!" it might as well have been christmas. i was thrilled. =) but you should have seen the day we had to put it all away! not good. i only got away with it because i promised we would get out christmas decorations RIGHT after. and we maybe let him keep one of the spooky owls in his room for a few weeks. =)

preschool party.

max had so much fun dressing up as spiderman this year! i had a total mommy breakdown bit of a hard time accepting the fact that i didn't get to make and choose his costume this year, but you know, there's something to be said for dressing up as a white haired spiderman with a sword and yellow rain boots.  he chose it all by himself and by golly he loved it. so there you go. at preschool they had a little parade for the parents and sang some halloween songs. max sang along with some of the words but was a little quiet! it's so interesting watching your kids interact in a classroom setting- max is SO much quieter at school than at home. which is probably a good thing. =)

halloween night!

so, on actual halloween, it. poured. this is the only trick or treat pic i have and no, he did not just take a shower, he is that wet from walking around JUST our cul de sac! it was a joke and of course max wouldn't stay under the umbrella. we had so much fun hanging at our house with matt and celeste, the sorias and wes.  and this is why we love our friends- as of 4:00 pm on halloween we had no plans. by about 5:00 pm it was a full on halloween bash at our house! and that's the way i like it. =)

it has to be said. lucy was probably the cutest butterfly that ever lived. period. i was SO excited for her to wear her costume! at least i got to make sooooomebody's cosutme this year. ' )

lu's giant wings made it sorta impossible to hold her, but i didn't care. and don't ask what i was. i wore black wings, black feathers in my hair, and black feathery fake eyelashes. done and done.

so the best part happened after we peeled of the soaking costumes, threw all the trick or treaters in the tub and put their jammies on. because after that, CANDY HAPPENED. i'm telling you, it was total chaos! they were out of control loud and spend probably 2 straight hours screaming and ROLLING in candy. like literally rolling and pretending to swim in candy. it was nuts. then radomly the doorbell would ring and each of our children had to take a turn giving candy to every single trick or treater.

here's how it all played out. max and sawyer- head psychos. the loudest, the rolliest and sugary-est ones. heather, played along and then continually stopped to say, "ok guys, it's getting too messy, it's time to clean up!" fat chance. addie- sat quietly in the corner and hoarded now and laters. it was the funniest thing i have ever seen! the girl probably ended up with her own little pile of 50 now and laters.

and yea, sawyer is wearing max's boxer briefs. i mean seriously, why not right?
